Ken Shamrock Believes There Could Be Impact And Combate Americas Crossover

Ken Shamrock Believes There Could Be Impact And Combate Americas Crossover

– Ken Shamrock recently spoke to Wrestling INC about a variety of topics. Highlights are below.

On Impact/Combate Americas Crossover: “Absolutely. It’s pro wrestling and in this world of fighting – if you go back to the 1940s – if you talk about wrestlers, they were really tough guys. Bare-knuckle fighters – they were known as tough people. Absolutely there is a crossover because pro wrestling has some really tough guys in there and we’ve seen it where they cross over and are successful at both.”

On Working With Joey Ryan: “It’s entertainment and you’re not allowed to draw a line in the sand of what you think entertainment is. If you think that’s not entertainment, well, a million other people do. It’s proven through social media and Joey Ryan is a popular guy. So it bothers me when people start screaming that I’m above that and I shouldn’t be doing that. I don’t get to make the rules. I don’t get a say on what’s entertainment. I’m here to do my job and that’s what I do. If you don’t like that, then go talk to somebody that can do something about it because I can’t. I’m just doing my job.”

On Turning Down Brawl For All: “I chose not to. I worked hard to gain trust in the wrestlers. I just came from the world of fighting and they went me to get into this Brawl For All. I thought to myself, ‘I’m a professional fighter.’ It’s not fair to those guys to get involved because I’m at a different level. I respectfully declined. They were gonna pay me $50,000 to fight for real when I make over $1 million to fight in something like that. Then I’m gonna have to fight multiple times to win it? You’re not gonna give me 50 grand. It was about me being a professional fighter and them being amateurs.”

On Impact Creative: “I love the creative process at Impact where we’re able to talk through things and create our own storylines. We have some guidelines but overall we get to create the character we want. I’ve never been frustrated at what people were doing. There were things I agreed with and things I didn’t agree with and if it was something I didn’t agree with, then I didn’t do it. If it’s something you’re not feeling really good about, then express your opinion and don’t do it.”

Renee Young Doesn’t Think CM Punk Will Return To The Ring In Near Future

Renee Young Doesn’t Think CM Punk Will Return To The Ring In Near Future

– Renee Young recently spoke to TV Insider about CM Punk on WWE Backstage and more. Highlights are below.

On WWE Backstage Vibe: “It’s nice to have the resources of FOX. We work with the producers there to come up with what works and doesn’t work. We bounce off each other. Going back to what I was doing with WWE, one of the things I was most proud of and had the most fun on was Talking Smack. It was so loose. We really went on there with no script. We would wing it and try to make the best show we could. I think the fans really felt that authenticity from myself and Daniel Bryan. Now to work with FOX and develop this show and turn it into something Talking Smack wasn’t able to be. We want to do a service to WWE and FOX. Obviously, we keep our fans in mind with all of it. We want to cover as much as we can, but we bounce stuff off WWE as well to see what they are comfortable with us talking about. I’ve worked there for so long I know exactly what that line is always going to be anyway. We’re still developing the show and listening to what fans want. We’re always on social media and seeing what people are into and not into. We’re going to cover the big headlines and the reaction, but also other stuff going on like Dana Brooke and Dave Bautista’s weird love affair that’s happening online. So, we try to cover as much as we can. An hour goes by so quickly.”

On Working With CM Punk: “I saw on my timeline he likened it to the frozen caveman coming back to life and checking out the wrestling world again. Fans respect Punk so much, to see him back in any capacity of the wrestling world is a huge win for everybody all around. To see him get more comfortable in that spot, it’s fun. It’s cool to be there with him side-by-side as he is dipping his toe back into this world. To hear his perspective and share that on television, I’m looking forward to seeing what happens this week coming up as we always look for that honest opinion from him. Anything that strays from that would be a misstep. We want that unfiltered Punk on our show.”

On CM Punk Potentially Returning To The Ring: “We’re going to have to poke the bear because that is what everybody wants,” she said. “Still to this day, every arena we go in with WWE chants his name. Everybody wants to see CM Punk back in the ring. Does he want to come back in the ring? I truly don’t know. It seems like a never say never situation. I don’t foresee it happening in the near future.”

Ronda Rousey In "No Rush" To Return To The WWE Ring

Ronda Rousey In "No Rush" To Return To The WWE Ring

Ronda Rousey recently spoke with People to promote tonight's WWE Total Divas season nine finale, and said she's in "no rush" to return to the ring for WWE.

Rousey did say she's not closing the door on a return to the ring.

"I think I need to figure out a different way of doing it," she said of a WWE ring return. "To be able to not have to choose career over family or family over career and kind of find that happy medium."

"Right now, I think my family needs my undivided attention. I'm happy to give them that. But I'm trying to figure out a way or a system or somehow that I could give both my family and WWE the best of me and not be half ass in both."

Rousey also praised the current WWE women's division and commented on bringing a spotlight to the women's revolution. She also said they're better off with her taking time away.

"The girls are doing amazing right now," Rousey said. "I really don't think that I'm that necessary in what's going on. I think they're crushing it and I really did want to bring a spotlight to what they're doing and let them stand in it. And I think it's kind of better, they're better off with me taking a step away right now, and kind of finding their stride without me."

She continued, "And I would love to add to what they're doing. I don't want to ever be a hindrance or take away from what they're doing or steal the spotlight from some up and coming girls that deserve it more than me."

Rousey also said she "loves" being able to just watch WWE right now.
