Man Utd: Solskjaer urges team to build momentum

Marseille are reportedly in advanced talks about poaching a third member of Manchester United's recruitment team. Pablo Longoria was appointed as Marseille's new Head of Football last July and he has overseen a major overhaul of the club's recruitment department.

Two members of United's scouting team have already left Old Trafford to join Marseille.

Former scouts David Friio and Omar Sciolla joined the club last year, with Friio becoming Marseille's Director of Recruitment in September 2020.

Now, France Football are reporting that Marseille are in 'advanced talks' to bring in Mathieu Seckinger, a current first team scout at United and former youth scout.

Franck Tognarelli is also being targeted by the Ligue 1 side.

Several scouts have already been released by Marseille, with Michel Flos and Ferhat Khirat leaving the club and Georges Santos expected to follow.

Jorge Sampaoli is poised to become Marseille's new manager, with the Argentinian set to take over from interim boss Nasser Larguet.

Larguet was appointed after Andre Villas-Boas sensationally resigned earlier this month because Olivier Ntcham was signed from Celtic against his wishes.

"I have resigned because I don’t agree with the sporting policy of the club," Villas-Boas said.

"I said no to the signing of Olivier Ntcham. He wasn’t on our list.

"I had nothing to do with this decision. Ntcham is a player I said no to.

"I was not aware [he had signed], I learned it in the press this morning when I woke up.

"I'm waiting for a response from management, and if it's no, we'll keep going.

"I don't want any money, I just want to leave. I want to be clear with you.

"I don't don't want anything from OM or Frank [McCourt].

"I gave my opinion for the replacement of Sanson but I do not can not accept, as a professional, that [not being informed].

"This has nothing to do with the weekend incidents. It's just in relation to what I want on the sporting aspects and which was not understood. Even for Nemanja Radonjic, I was informed that very morning."
