Lionel Messi will be pursued by Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain if he chooses to leave Barcelona behind, reports say. The prospect of the Argentina international moving away from the Nou Camp appears slim. However, that hasn’t stopped speculation from linking him with a blockbuster move away from Catalonia when the transfer window reopens.
Messi has grown frustrated at Barcelona, with the Argentina international unhappy with matters both on and off the field.
Back in the summer he wanted the club to re-sign Neymar from PSG but, instead, they landed Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid.
Yet the France international has struggled at the Nou Camp and Messi is far from happy. He was also angry when Ernesto Valverde was sacked and replaced with Quique Setien back in February.
Now, there’s talk Messi could leave Barcelona - even if that appears remote.
And Argentinian TV channel VarskySports have claimed United and PSG are leading the race for Messi at the current time.

Lionel Messi: Barcelona star has been backed for unlikely Man Utd transfer
It’s claimed both clubs are ‘willing to go big’ for the Barcelona star should he sensationally decide to leave the Nou Camp for a new challenge elsewhere.
Both European giants would supposedly offer Barca a huge fee of £108million in order to sign the 33-year-old at the end of the campaign.
And they’re also prepared to include players as part of a potential swap deal as well.
While that’s the case, however, Messi moving to either United or PSG seems to be impossible.
United are only just hitting form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and any potential move to Old Trafford would be a risk given their plight in the years since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.
And Barcelona’s strained relationship with PSG also suggests that Messi would be unlikely to follow in Neymar’s footsteps by moving to the Parc des Princes.
Meanwhile, former Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has opened up on Messi.
And he feels the veteran is ‘too intelligent’ to be used in next summer’s elections at the La Liga club.
"Messi will not allow himself to be used in that way," Rosell said in an interview with ESPN.
"He's far too intelligent to be used as a pawn in an electoral campaign."

Rosell also expressed a belief that Barcelona will find life without Messi ‘difficult’ when he eventually walks away from the Nou Camp.
"It's going to be complicated for Barca without Messi," he added.
"You have to change all the ideas related to the system of play, but also the internal operations of the club and even the marketing.
"If Messi does leave - and I hope he will be here for many years - you cannot look for another Messi, because it simply doesn't exist."
Messi is expected to feature when Barcelona face Villarreal in their La Liga showdown on Sunday night (9pm).
