Liverpool are interested in signing Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele but wary of the player’s injury record, reports say. Jurgen Klopp is set to miss out on RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner, who is close to joining Chelsea. And he could swoop to sign Dembele, who Barcelona are ready to cut loose in this summer’s transfer window.
Liverpool were admirers of Dembele in 2017, only for the winger to leave Borussia Dortmund for Barcelona instead.
However, the France international has struggled at the Nou Camp over the past three years with injury hampering his chances of being a success.
Dembele has only played 74 times for Barcelona since his £134million move to Catalonia and, now, they’re ready to cash in.
The La Liga giants want to re-sign Neymar from PSG, three years after the Brazil international’s controversial move to the Parc des Princes.
And they also have transfer interest in Lautaro Martinez, who has been in stunning form for Inter Milan this season.

Liverpool are worried about Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele ahead of the summer transfer window
Sport say Liverpool, as well as PSG and Juventus, are among the clubs looking to sign Dembele when the transfer window reopens.
But they, like the Ligue 1 and Serie A titans, are wary of Dembele’s torrid injury record.
Signing him would be a gamble given how much his career has stunted over the past three years, regardless of the obvious talent he possesses.
And, as things stand, it’s hard to see Liverpool welcoming him to Anfield.
The Reds had been strongly linked with Werner but, on Thursday, it emerged that he’s closing in on a move to Chelsea.

“He isn’t just a one-dimensional speedster in attack, so I think they are getting a terrific player," Hatchard told talkSPORT.
"I think Liverpool – having been interested in him – have decided to walk away for financial reasons, and I think Chelsea have done really well to nick in there.
“One of the things that would attract Chelsea to him is that he can play a variety of roles.
“I think he is dangerous when he can pull into that half-space in the inside-left channel, but he can also play through the middle.

“[Julian] Nagelsmann is working with him to be more flexible and to get his head up and look, because sometimes he could be a player who would go missing in games; if the game wasn’t going particularly well you wouldn’t see him for big chunks of it.
“He might score you goals but the all-round contribution wouldn’t be as good; but now he’s looking for team-mates.
“He is an excellent player and I think, potentially, Chelsea have got a very, very good player.
“If it all gets wrapped up I think it would be a really smart signing.”
