Everton are interested in signing Barcelona youngster Jean-Clair Todibo during the January transfer window. Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti wants to bolster his defensive options as he stamps his authority on the current squad. But, he’ll face stern competition for Todibo’s signature.
Everton will have to battle against a whole host of Premier League clubs to sign Todibo this month.
But, Everton have now made a formal enquiry about Todibo, according to the Daily Mail, with the Catalans willing to listen to offers.
The 20-year-old centre-back would be willing to leave the Nou Camp, but he sees his long-term future at Barcelona.

With that in mind, Barcelona are insistent that a buy-back clause is included into any transfer, as the youngster’s progress in recent years has been seismic.
AC Milan are among the frontrunners to sign Todibo, but they are unwilling to include the buy-back clause - as are Manchester United.
Barcelona have already demanded at least £21m for the former Toulouse defender.
Todibo appreciates that he’s developed significantly over the past 12 months in Catalonia, and is happy at the club.

But, he’s not playing regularly enough at the moment, and wants to get more minutes under his belt.
Todibo has made just two La Liga appearances this season, only one of which was in the starting XI.
The France Under-20 defender did, however, play a full 90 minutes in Barcelona’s 2-1 away win against Inter Milan in the Champions League.
Todibo drew attention from Barcelona at the start of last season, when he was playing in France’s Ligue 1 with Toulouse.
Then 18 years old, he started 10 of the team’s first 12 matches of the season.
He scored his first goal for the club in September 2018.
Barcelona signed Todibo from the French side on deadline day in January 2019.
He cost the Ernesto Valverde just £900,000, but is set to make Barcelona almost £20m just a year later.
Everton are desperate to sign a new centre-back in January.
They only have two natural central defenders in Michael Keane and Yerry Mina.
Ancelotti has been forced to use Mason Holgate as a makeshift centre-back in a 3-5-2 system.
Everton have also been linked with a move for Carlisle United defender Jarrad Branthwaite, but they face competition from Chelsea and Liverpool for the youngster’s signature.
