Chelsea boss Frank Lampard could be assisted in bringing Ben Chilwell to Stamford Bridge by former Blues boss Antonio Conte. The Italian is now in charge at Inter Milan, and could hand his former side a boost to their budget by signing Marcos Alonso.

Express Sport understand that Chelsea want to make Ben Chilwell their first signing in almost a year after their transfer ban was reduced, which gives them the freedom to spend in January.

Lampard is likely to take the opportunity to spend which will give his side a better chance to chase down Manchester City and Leicester, and a sale could add to his budget.

Gazzetta have now reported that Conte is keen on bringing Alonso back to Italy to add some more experience to his playing squad in their title battle with Juventus, as Kwadwo Asamoah struggles with injury.

Spain international Alonso has fallen out of favour under Lampard with Emerson impressing in the position, with the 28-year-old only featuring eight times in the league this season.

The left-back was a fan of Conte during his time in London despite his difficult second season, and could favour a return in search of regular playing time.

"In England, after winning the Premier League, it is normal to have a difficult year,” Alonso told Marca in 2018.

“Especially with the level that Manchester City are maintaining throughout the season.

"He has done a great job and we only think about finishing well."

Lampard is happy with the recent news regarding the transfer ban that hindered his actions in the summer, but it aware that deals will not all be of his own making.

He said: "Personally what affected me in the summer with the transfer ban, when you come into the club or when you want to go a certain way, sometimes the players you bring in and the attributes they have are key to that.

"I couldn't make those changes to bring in the players that I felt would help the way I wanted us to play.

"Going forward that is something that I will put to the club.

“It is a much bigger process than just me making a decision on who I want to buy. It's not that simple.

"It's not just myself who gets it right or wrong, but as a club we will have a full discussion and I have a very open conversation with [director] Marina [Granovskaia] and the owner [Roman Abramovic].

"Any recommendations that I make to improve the squad as I see will improve us in the shape that we want to go.

“It will be a challenge and hopefully we will get it right."

Russia 2020: Russia banned from global sports - Can they compete in Euro 2020?

Russia 2020: Russia banned from global sports - Can they compete in Euro 2020?

Russia will not be able to participate in world sporting events due to a unanimous ruling from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

The ban is effective immediately and will last for four years, preventing the country from participating in a host of major upcoming competitions.

Russia’s comprehensive ban prevents them from participating in global athletics competitions for the next four years.

The ban applies to all bodies listed as a “major event organisation” by the International Standard for Code Compliance by Signatories.

Among their signatories are the International Olympic Committee and FIFA, meaning Russia can’t compete in the Tokyo Olympics next year or the 2022 World Cup.

However, UEFA, which is responsible for administering the European Championships, is not included.

Can Russia compete in Euro 2020?

Russia is still free to compete in the 2020 European Championships.

The team, led by Stanislav Cherchesov, has already qualified for the finals next year.

They will debut in group B alongside Finland, Belgium and Denmark.

The decision to place the ban came after WADA officials declared Russia’s Anti Doping Agency (Rusada) “non-compliant”.

WADA President Sir Craig Reedie said the ruling from the organisation’s Executive Committee made the “right decisions” in banning Russia from global competition.

He said: “For too long, Russian doping has detracted from clean sport.

“The blatant breach by the Russian authorities of RUSADA’s reinstatement conditions, approved by the ExCo in September 2018, demanded a robust response."

“That is exactly what has been delivered today.

“Russia was afforded every opportunity to get its house in order and re-join the global anti-doping community for the good of its athletes and for the integrity of sport, but it chose instead to continue in its stance of deception and denial.

“As a result, the WADA ExCo has responded in the strongest possible terms, while protecting the rights of Russian athletes that can prove that they were not involved and did not benefit from these fraudulent acts.

“On behalf of the ExCo, and of the many WADA stakeholders that supported the CRC recommendation, I would like to thank the members of the CRC for their expert and considered recommendation, as well as WADA I&I and the forensic experts for their skill, diligence and perseverance in getting to the bottom of this highly complex case.”

While Russia is comprehensively banned, individual athletes may still compete.

Russian sportsmen and women can still qualify for events if tests reveal they are free of any doping drugs before an upcoming competition.

If they test negative for banned substances, they are allowed to compete individually, rather than under Russia’s flag.

WADA has given Russia 21 days to appeal the ban, after which the case may go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Graffiti calling for Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke to leave the club has been sprayed on a wall near to the Emirates. In footage posted on Twitter, a man is seen being apprehended by two police officers close to Drayton Park station. And behind him at the words in white paint say ‘Kroenke Out’.

Arsenal supporters have been vocal in their unhappiness with Kroenke, who is the sole owner of the club with his company Kroenke Sports and Entertainment.

In 2018, Kroenke became the sole owner after gradually buying the shares but the lack of investment in the squad has led to a swift drop in quality.

Kroenke has been an infrequent figure in north London, instead tasking his son Josh to help run the club with managing director Vinai Venkatesham, head of football Raul Sanllehi and technical director Edu.

Arsenal have made their worst start to the season since 1977 and sacked Unai Emery at end of last month.

The comes graffiti just days after ‘AFTV Out’ was sprayed on a wall near the Emirates.

It was a message to the infamous YouTube channel which host views from Arsenal fans.

The channel run by Robbie Lyle, has over a million subscribers and been a major source of controversy as it has gained notoriety.

Whenever Arsenal lost, AFTV quickly trends on Twitter as fans anxiously await content from the disgruntled supporters.

Last month, former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan slammed AFTV on talkSPORT.

He said: “You know as well as I do that the rise of social media has given an outlet to people to be their own publicist, and to have an even more vociferous vantage point than fans have on the terraces due to the keyboard warrior mentality.

“There has always been this element of toxicity, and if you are moving into the territory of wishing your side to lose games, you are crossing the divide.

“You are moving into a situation where you are not a football supporter any more, you are something different.

“The ideal of a football supporter is supporting things.

“You may ambivalent by certain outcomes and disillusioned by certain performances.

“But if you do get into that territory – what kind of fan sits there wanting their team to lose, irrespective of if they think it is going to facilitate the exit of a manager they don’t want?

“I’ve got to be honest with you… I wonder what the average IQ is when I listen to it sometimes, rather than what the average age is!”

Barcelona chief Eric Abidal wants to sign Inter Milan duo Lautaro Martinez and Stefano Sensi when the transfer window reopens in January, according to reports. The La Liga giants currently sit top of the table but, despite that, Ernesto Valverde feels more is required.

Barcelona have enjoyed a solid season so far, with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez impressing but Antoine Griezmann toiling ever since his arrival from Atletico Madrid.

Back in the summer, the Catalan giants spent big on Griezmann but, with the France international struggling to find his mojo over at the Nou Camp, Ernesto Valverde is eyeing other reinforcements.

And, with that in mind, Catalan newspaper Sport say that Barcelona are keen to sign Inter Milan forward Martinez in the New Year.

The Argentina international has become up a key player for Antonio Conte's side this season, striking up an impressive partnership with Romelu Lukaku up top.

Martinez has also scored eight goals from 15 Serie A appearances this term and found the net five times from as many matches in the Champions League.

And the report says Barcelona chief Abidal has asked about Martinez, with Inter adamant he won't be sold for anything less than his buyout clause of £96million.

The La Liga side are, however, hopeful that a deal can be struck due to their good relationship with Conte's side.

Barcelona and Inter have negotiated transfers for the likes of Samuel Eto'o, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ronaldo over the years.

And the report claims Barcelona have also asked about Sensi, who has impressed at the San Siro ever since his arrival on loan from Sassuolo back in the summer.

The 24-year-old has scored three goals and registered two assists for Inter this season from seven Serie A appearances.

But whether Barcelona can sign the Inter Milan duo, who they'll go up against on Tuesday night, is something only time will tell.

Meanwhile, Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta recently expressed a belief that Martinez would stay at the San Siro, despite Barcelona's transfer interest.

"His contract situation is not compromising," Marotta said at on Monday.

"He is a good boy and is grateful to Inter, so it does not cause a discomfort.

"Inter and Suning [the club's ownership group] aim to grow and you can't do that by giving up your best players. But the market is unpredictable - there is always the will of the player to choose their own destiny.

"This is not the time to talk about a possible transfer or contract renewal. Lautaro knows very well the trust we have for him."

Marotta also hailed Martinez's partnership with Lukaku.

"There is the right chemistry between them," he said. "Antonio Conte, a proven winner, knows how to get the best out of them.

"They are friends off the field and have a great harmony on the pitch."
