Massimiliano Allegri has made it know he is interested in taking up a job in the Premier League and has been linked with taking up the vacant position at , as well as replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at .

However, according to ESPN FC, the 52-year-old Italian appears set on sticking to his plan of taking a year out of football after leaving Juventus in the summer.

Allegri had a very successful spell at the Italian club and won five straight Serie A titles, along with four Coppa Italias, during his time in Turin.

But he now reiterated his plan to not take a job in-season.

“In June. I don't know if you can call it a sabbatical or not,” Allegri told ESPN FC.

“Giovanni [Branchini] and I immediately came to that decision. As soon as the relationship with Juventus came to an end, the decision was to take a year out.

“I had 18 years as a player and I've been in coaching for 16. I stopped this year after 34.

“I’m happy. I have a chance to reflect, go and talk to people, do things in my private life that I'm passionate about, like going to the theatre, some art exhibitions, reading books.”

However, fans of Arsenal and United that want to see him take over at their respective clubs can be reassured that the Italian is also using his free time to study the English language.

“I am taking lessons here in Milan. I manage to speak quite well,” Allegri added.

“I find the listening part a bit more difficult. If I'm talking to someone who helps me out by speaking a little slower, then I understand.

“I watch films [in English] and if I read something in English I understand it fine.”

But Allegri isn’t going to rush into a new job and wants to make sure if he suitably prepared wherever he ends up next.

“Next year will be an important year,” he said.

“Important for the choice I end up making and the need to be prepared for it.

“After a year out and five years at Juventus, I don't want to go back into the game and do badly. That would do my head in.”

Arsenal have placed Freddie Ljungberg in temporary charge after they made the decision to end Emery’s 18 month reign at the cub.

And it has been reported the club have already begun the process of interviewing candidates for the position, with the club currently sitting 10th in the table.

Although last week Arsenal director Josh Kroenke insisted the club would be taking its time to appoint Emery’s replacement.

“It's about finding the right candidate, not the first candidate,” he said.

Meanwhile, as the right manager to turn around the fortunes of the Red Devils.

United currently sit sixth in the table after 15 games, although they are still eight points off the top-four places and 22 points behind league leaders Liverpool.

Jose Mourinho's nice guy act darkens as troubles rear

MANCHESTER: Just as he has been ever since returning a fortnight ago, Jose Mourinho was on a charm offensive. He strode through the gates of Old Trafford’s players’ entrance and made a beeline for security guards, a match co-ordinator, and shortly after, he found Ole Gunnar Solskjaer , greeting him with a clasp of the face.

This is the new Mourinho, the Mourinho looking to build bridges. It was the Mourinho who now resembles one of those motivational Instagram accounts, misattributing quotations to historical figures and celebrities in his press conferences, insisting that the world is actually fine if you just think positively and are nice to people. Who knows?

Man Utd stars visit Ed Woodward to issue Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sack demand

Manchester United players have demanded Ed Woodward keep Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on as manager, despite the Red Devils’ mixed start to the Premier League season.  The Red Devils eased some of the pressure on the Norwegian with a 2-1 victory over Tottenham on Wednesday, with a Marcus Rashford brace ruining Jose Mourinho’s return to his old club.

Manchester United have won just five of their first 15 league matches, however, something that Solskjaer is fully aware isn’t acceptable.

Yet the Daily Star claim that players at the club have gone to Woodward and insisted he keep Solskjaer in charge.

A club source is quoted as saying: "There's no doubt the squad are still desperate to do well for the manager.

“There is a strong feeling towards him and some of them wanted to make this clear."

Woodward is reportedly willing to give Solskjaer all the time he needs in order to carry out his rebuilding job.

And they showed on Wednesday night that, when they have their key players back, they’re able to rub shoulders with the best in the top flight.

United have gone through three managers since Sir Alex Ferguson cruised off into the sunset back in 2013.

David Moyes was the first to chance his arm but lasted just 10 months into a six-year contract, with the club axing him following their failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Louis van Gaal lasted two years before being replaced by Mourinho - despite winning the FA Cup with a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace.

And Mourinho spent two-and-a-half years at Old Trafford before being sacked back in December with the club stuck in a rut.

Woodward recently admitted that he’d found it ‘grim’ sacking the three managers.

“Grim,” he said when asked how he felt doing the deed.

“It’s not a pleasant experience and I hope I never have to do it again.”

Meanwhile, United legend Gary Neville has praised the job Solskjaer is doing - but expressed a belief that he needs more signings.

“Ole needs to spend the owners’ money in January,” Neville said during an appearance on talkSPORT. “He is doing what I call a ‘pure job’.

“He is essentially clearing out Van Gaal and Mourinho’s players and tried to bring in players who were young and British in the summer, with Daniel James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire.

“But these players are not mature enough, they haven’t got enough experience or quality in the squad and they’re suffering badly.

“They’re well short in terms of investment and quality. Ole doesn’t want to just be clearing the decks for other people to come in and benefit, he needs to make sure he benefits from it.

{%=o.title%}

“And so he needs to spend the money and be ruthless with the board. It takes a lot for me to say these things publicly because I’m so connected to the club, but he needs to spend their money and he needs to spend it well.

“I would say he needs a couple of midfield players and he needs a striker – that’s essential. A minimum of a midfield player and striker in January.

“He needs to line up two or three experienced players, because their current players are struggling on the pitch without guidance. They really are struggling, they need support out there.

“You look at James, Mason Greenwood, Scott McTominay, Andreas Pereira, Marcus Rashford, they all need experience alongside them.

“There’s no doubt they’re giving their all, but without some guidance, it’s just really difficult.”

Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer makes Paul Pogba transfer decision after growing annoyed

Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer makes Paul Pogba transfer decision after growing annoyed

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has grown irritated by the carry-on from Paul Pogba’s failed move to Real Madrid in the summer, reports say. And they claim the Norwegian is now ready to offload the France international in January in order to free up funds to use on new reinforcements.

Pogba played under Solskjaer for the Manchester United academy and initially flourished when the Norwegian replaced Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford last December.

However, he spent the summer lusting after a move to Real Madrid, with Zinedine Zidane hellbent on securing the midfielder’s signature.

Pogba is also thought to be open to returning to Serie A giants Juventus, the club he left back in the summer of 2016 in order to return to Old Trafford.

And the Independent say that Solskjaer’s patience with the 2018 World Cup winner is wearing thin.

Publicly, the United manager has defended his star man, insisting he has no issues with his behaviour.

But Solskjaer has had enough and would gladly get rid of Pogba in the New year to raise funds for new recruits further down the line.

Back in the summer, United were linked with many potential replacements.

Christian Eriksen was heavily backed to join the club but United, upon learning he’d prefer to join Real Madrid, chose to duck out of negotiations.

There was never anything genuine in the intense links to Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes, despite Portuguese media driving the story.

And it seems hard to imagine Real letting Toni Kroos or Luka Modric move to Old Trafford as part of any swap deal.

While Solskjaer wants to get rid of Pogba, ESPN pundit Steve Nicol can’t see a transfer taking place in January.

“It looked like he was trying to force a move in the summer but Manchester United said ‘It is not happening’,” Nicol said on ESPN FC.

“I find it difficult to find out why Manchester United would change their mind now. Pogba is a world class talent but the truth of the matter is if it’s up to him why would he stay at Manchester United?

“Realistically the chances of winning the Premier League and the Champions League are way in the distance right now.

“If he has got the opportunity as an individual to go to Real Madrid then why wouldn’t you take it. The problem is Manchester United are not going to let him go.”

Nicol also thinks that, when Pogba returns for United, he’ll be a vital asset for Solskjaer’s side.

{%=o.title%}

“Manchester United right now are building and trying to put a team together,” he added.

“When you’re doing that why would you let your best player go? It makes no sense whatsoever.

“You can throw in well he would bring in a lot of money.

“But the pool which United are buying from is different to City, Barcelona, Real Madrid.

“If it is up to him he goes but if you are Manchester United you can’t let this guy go.”
