This weekend’s Premier League results have been predicted by BT Sport’s ‘The Script’, and with Jose Mourinho’s return to management, it’s sure to be an exciting weekend of action.

Mourinho’s first game in charge of Tottenham, however, will end in despair for the Portuguese, if The Script is anything to go by.

They say that Spurs will lose 1-0 to West Ham, who are winless in five games this term.

In some of the weekend’s smaller games, the stats geeks have Everton drawing with Norwich 1-1, while Watford are apparently set to play out the same scoreline with Burnley at Vicarage Road.

In form Leicester, who are second in the Premier League, are being predicted to beat Brighton away from home to continue their fine run.

Meanwhile Wolves, who have been inconsistent this season, are being touted to lose 3-0 away at Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth.

If BT Sport are correct, then Newcastle should enjoy an easy weekend as they’ve been picked to thrash Aston Villa 4-1 at Villa Park.

The bigger shocks, though, come in the games involving the top six sides in the league.

Not only will Spurs lose to West Ham, but Arsenal will suffer the same fate at home to Southampton, who are being predicted to win 1-0.

Premier League champions Manchester City will supposedly beat Chelsea with a whopping 5-1 scoreline.

BT Sport have gone one better for Manchester United’s visit to Sheffield United, however, as they believe the Blades will come out on top 5-0.

Elsewhere, league leaders and title favourites Liverpool are expected to lose to Crystal Palace 3-1 at Selhurst Park.

West Ham 1-0 Tottenham

Sheffield United 5-0 Man Utd

Watford 1-1 Burnley

lost the respect of his former Tottenham players and it was clear they'd stopped giving their all for him before he was given the boot, Alan Shearer believes.

The Argentine was given his marching orders by Spurs on Tuesday night following a run of four league games without a win.

Tottenham moved quickly to replace the 47-year-old, appointing Jose Mourinho as his successor less than 12 hours later.

Spurs’ terrible form on the road in 2019 - a year in which they’ve failed to win a top-flight game away from home since January - played a major factor in the club’s decision to hand Pochettino his P45.

The players had stopped running for him

And Shearer, like many others, believes their alarming downturn in effort highlights the fact Pochettino lost the dressing room.

“I was really surprised at the timing,” Shearer, speaking to Coral, said of the former Espanyol and Southampton manager’s dismissal.

“If there is one guy that had a bit of credit in the bank because of the Champions League last season, what he had achieved with a limited budget, developing players and handling the change in stadium, it was Pochettino at Spurs.

“Having said that, the players had stopped running for him. There is no doubt about that.

“We have highlighted it over the last few weeks as there has been a lack of energy and press in the team.

"With his body language and his attitude, where he was basically taking on the board when he said he was no longer the manager and just the coach, that was a dig at what was going on there.

“The managers of some big club will not be sitting easy now knowing someone of his calibre is sitting available and free.”

The first game of the Mourinho era takes place this afternoon and will see Spurs travel to the London Stadium to take on West Ham.

Inter Milan striker Lukaku: Good to be club's most expensive signing

Inter Milan striker Lukaku: Good to be club's most expensive signing

Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku says moving to the Nerazzurri has long been an ambition.

Lukaku left Manchester United this summer for Inter after being pursued by coach Antonio Conte.

He told Corriere dello Sport: "I don't mind being the most expensive player in Inter's history, nor replacing Icardi, who give a lot here in Milan. When I arrived, Mauro was very nice and kind to me. I wish him all the best at Paris-Saint Germain and hope he wins there. We are two different forwards.

"It would be nice to be Capocannoniere, but I'm not the type of player who says I want this or that individual title. I think of the team first. My biggest motivation is helping the team, and to help the team we score goals.

"So far everything has been fine, but I want to do better by working to the maximum every day in training. Now I'm at 100%, but I don't stop, I want to show Inter that they decided well in signing me."

He added: "I've dreamed of Inter for some time. I loved Ronaldo and Adriano, but it was Ibra that taught me everything, especially in our talks on the team bus. I believe he will return to Serie A."

Inter Milan striker Lukaku: Conte and Mourinho the best

Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku says there's similarities between coach Antonio Conte and his former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.

Lukaku left United this summer for Inter after being pursued by Conte.

He told Corriere dello Sport: "There are similarities between the two, and they're the best coaches I've had in my career. They have the same characteristics, even if they use different systems.

"I think I've given my best with these coaches, because if you don't, it's tough with them. I'm really happy for him and I think that with Jose on the bench, Tottenham will win something in the next couple of years, because he's a top coach."
