Man City attacker Bernardo: People can interpret Portugal goal celebration as they want
Manchester City attacker Bernardo Silva was coy over his Portugal goal celebration during victory over Lithuania.
Bernardo scored the fifth goal in Portugal's 6-0 Euros qualifying win and celebrated by putting his fingers in his ears.
It's been suggested he was responding to his one-match ban handed down by the FA for an 'offensive' social media post sent to close friend Benjamin Mendy. In their ruling, the FA admitted the post was not racist, yet still suspended the midfielder.
After victory over Lithuania, Bernardo said, "It was no response to anyone. I tried to best help our team and each one interprets the way they want."
On being back with his Portugal teammates, he also stated: "It's completely different from a club, let's say that in 365 days, 300 train with the club and only 65 are with the national team. Then there are other things. You meet friends you haven't seen before. It is always fantastic to come to the national team. We try, in the short time we have, to prepare for games as well as possible."
