Chelsea boss Frank Lampard says Reece James has the potential to have a big future in the game.

James impressed on debut in victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

"He's got the abilities to go very far," said Lampard. "It's hard to cap that, or not cap it, but I think that from what I see from him in training, what I saw at Wigan, and Jody Morris and Joe Edwards know him very well from the youth teams here and speak so highly of his talent.

"You always see when experienced players respect young players that come and train with you regularly and see the quality, it's always a good sign. I've got huge belief that he can as far as he wants in the game, because I see so much improvement.

"His raw talent and ability, which was there to see against Crystal Palace, is just the start of the story. There's a lot more to add on to that which is going to see him be a big, big player for this club."

Ayoze Perez: I chose Leicester over Valencia

Ayoze Perez: I chose Leicester over Valencia

Ayoze Perez chose to sign with Leicester City ahead of Valencia, he has revealed.

The forward initially had plans to return to his native Spain after making it clear that his future lied away from Newcastle towards the end of last season.

However, Perez instead ended up remaining in England, signing for Brendan Rodgers' Leicester in a £30m deal.

He told ABC: "It is true that Valencia were interested in me.

"And I was tempted to consider a move back to Spain.

"I miss the food, the weather and the lifestyle in Spain, and of course I would like to return in the future.

"However Leicester offered me an ambitious project, where I would play an important role.

"The move has been excellent for me, as I am playing in an attacking team and we are doing well."

Burnley boss Sean Dyche is lining up a move for Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton.

The Sun says Burnley are lining up a cut-price £1million deal for Bitton.

Dyche is a keen admirer of Bitton and wants to try to sign him in January to boost his options in a number of areas.

The versatile 28-year-old, who stands at 6ft 4ins, primarily operates as a centre midfielder but can also play at centre-back.

Bitton's Celtic contract expires in the summer and no new deal has yet been put on the table by the Scottish Premiership champions.
