Emmerdale viewers tuned in to see Arthur Thomas (played by Alfie Clarke) ramp up the verbal abuse towards Archie, Jai Sharma’s (Chris Bisson) son tonight. It comes after Monday night’s instalment which saw Archie break a sentimental Christmas tree decoration of Arthurs, and the elder boy flew off the handle into an explosive rage, furious at Archie for destroying something so precious to him. The scenes which aired this evening saw Arthur bring up the decoration and with the help of Nicola King’s (Nicola Wheeler) children, they goaded Archie and poked fun at him. But those watching at home were left “uncomfortable” and found the storyline “hard to watch”.
“Mum tried to fix the bauble that you broke, but she couldn’t,” Arthur spat at Archie while in the village cafe.
“I’m sorry,” Archie said but Arthur hit back: “No you’re not! You’re just saying that.”
Conversation then turned to the pantomime which was being produced by Bob Hope in a bid to spread some festive cheer among the village residents.
Arthur and his friend laughed at Archie’s expense leaving him sad and down.
But the teasing didn’t stop there.
Emmerdale fans demand Arthur Thomas' bullying Archie to end - 'Too hard to watch!'
While at the Cricket pavilion, Arthur cornered Archie and remarked: “No one wants you here. [Jai] only brought you here because he doesn’t know what else to do with you!
“He knows we all hate you. Even he hates you. Everyone hates you Archie.”
In response to why Archie was around, Nicola’s daughter Angelica said: “We might need someone to go around picking up the rubbish at the end.”
And her smart remark was responded with a slap from Archie.
After all the children were taken home, Arthur took his chance to be even more nasty to Archie.
With Jai and Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) out of sight, the schoolboy said: “See how much trouble you’ve caused?
“You don’t even care. Mum was fine this morning, now she’s stressed that’s because of you.
“Don’t even know why you’re here. We’ll all be much happier if you just leave,” he commented.

“But there’s nowhere for me to go?” Archie explained.
“What about the woods? You could just hide in there and no one would find you? We would be miles better off if you just went,” Arthur explained.
And Archie did just that, in the final scene he was seen running away from home.
But viewers suggested the storyline had gone too far and begged for it to end soon.
