Does anybody have the Dashboard Confessional song "Vindicated" on hand?

A report from the Wall Street Journal says that Amazon has leased new offices in Manhattan for 1,500 employees.

The news comes 10 months after Amazon abandoned its plans to build its second headquarters ("HQ2") in Long Island City, Queens. The company reversed course thanks to protests from residents and local officials who objected to the $3 billion it would receive in tax credits, and the gentrification, raised rents, and commuting mayhem it promised to bring.

Among those critics was Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who objected to what she saw as a government handout. Some people in turn criticized AOC for denying people jobs, and ostensibly scaring off the tech industry.

Now, AOC is claiming victory, saying that Amazon obviously was not deterred: the new development comes sans-tax breaks and other perks.

Of course, 1,500 jobs is just a fraction of the potential 25,000 jobs Amazon said its HQ2 would bring. But AOC is still taking the W.

Amazon's new digs will be in the Hudson Yards neighborhood, an area in west Manhattan dominated by a luxury work-play-eat-cry development called Hudson Yards, that opened in March 2019.

Ironically, the new neighborhood is attracting tenants like Amazon and Facebook because of the massive development — which itself received an estimated $6 billion in city tax breaks and other incentives. Now, when people come to visit Amazon's NYC office, at least they can stay in the Hudson Yards Equinox Hotel!

Strictly 2019: Amy Dowden left in tears as Claudia Winkleman probes star on Karim

Strictly Come Dancing was back for the all-important semi-final to decide which three couples would make it through to next weekend’s grand final. Karim Zeroual performed two high-scored routines this evening and Amy Dowden was left emotional by her partner.

Karim has been a favourite to win the show since it started back in September as he has consistently impressed fans and judges with his dazzling routines.

Last weekend saw CBBC presenter Karim and partner Amy awarded the first perfect score of the season as judge Craig Revel Horwood finally got his ten paddle out.

The pair danced a Jive to You Can’t Stop The Beat from the musical Hairspray which saw the studio erupt and the pair scored 40 points.

Tonight, they were back to perform two brand new routines in the hope of making it through to the final and to see themselves at the top of the leaderboard again.

The first of their routines tonight saw them perform the second Argentine Tango of the series, choreographed by ex-Strictly professional dancer, Vincent Simone scoring them 36 points.

They were back to perform a second routine later on in the show as they performed an American Smooth to Sweet Caroline.

The pair scored 38 points in the dance this evening and Amy Dowden couldn’t help but get emotional after their high scores.

Speaking to host Claudia Winkleman after the judges' comments, Karim said: “I really enjoyed it, such a good feeling, such a warm dance!’

Amy then defended the criticism over Karim’s lift in their earlier dance, saying: “He’s [Karim] nailed that lift so many times, he just got his shoe caught!

“It’s the hardest dance I’ve done so far, it’s so intricate,” Karim noted.

Claudia then asked Amy why Karim deserved to win the Glitterball Trophy next weekend and she was brought to tears.

“Karim is the most talented naturally talented person I’ve ever taught and he just works so hard and I’m so proud of him,” she told the host.

She opened up on the pair’s friendship and admitted that they had become the best of friends throughout the process.

“Even when he’s tired from work, he comes in and he gives it 110 percent, he’s like a little brother to me.

“To make it to the final would just be the perfect end to what’s been such an incredible journey,” she added.

It comes after Karim admitted he had found juggling two routines difficult and struggled to maintain energy throughout the week.

Speaking to presenter Gethin Jones on Friday’s hour-long special of sister show It Takes Two, the pair revealed they had a difficult week taking on two new routines.

As he asked them about their week of training, they both admitted it had been “tough” and their energy had come “crashing down”.

Amy told him: “Monday and Tuesday full of energy but I think you soon come crashing back down when you’ve got not just one but two numbers to learn.”

The pair found themselves second on the leaderboard as it was Kelvin Fletcher who managed to get 40 points this evening thanks to his Quickstep.

As the couples return for tomorrow night’s results show, who will fall at the final hurdle and fail to get through to next weekend’s final?

Strictly Come Dancing: The Results returns tomorrow evening at 7:20pm on BBC One.

I’m A Celebrity 2019 finalists: Who is in the final of I’m A Celebrity?

After three weeks in the Australian jungle, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! is almost over for the final three celebs. Every night on ITV, fans have been watching as the line-up of 12 famous faces have been whittled down to last remaining trio and now one of them has the chance of being crowned King or Queen of the Jungle on Sunday (December 8).

Who is in the I’m A Celebrity 2019 final?

Andy Whyment

Coronation Street favourite Andy Whyment secured his place in the I’m A Celebrity 2019 final this evening.

Despite joining this series as a late arrival with Cliff Parisi, Andy quickly endeared himself to fans.

Andy was left shocked to even be in the semi-final in the first place, let alone the final.

Speaking in tonight’s semi-final, he said: “I’m buzzing I beat Ian Wright and I beat Caitlyn Jenner it feels so surreal.”

Jacqueline Jossa

Former EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa is another face to make it to tomorrow’s finale.

Jacqueline has made no secret of finding the experience difficult at times.

In fact, some fans feared she would leave the series after breaking down in the Bush Telegraph early in the series.

However, Jacqueline remained in camp and is now one of the frontrunners to be crowned Queen of the Jungle.

Roman Kemp

Radio DJ Roman Kemp booked his place in the ITV series finale tonight.

Roman entered the jungle on the very first day and has continued until the very last.

From his flawless impressions of Caitlyn Jenner and presenters Ant and Dec to his adorable relationships with his campmates, Roman cemented himself as an I’m A Celeb favourite.

But will it be enough for Roman to return to the studio with the jungle crown?

With these three making the final, it meant there was no space for semi-finalist Kate Garraway.

Kate became the last celebrity to be voted off after entering the jungle on day one.

Nevertheless, she went out with a bang by taking part in the famous Celebrity Cyclone.

Along with her three campmates, she arrived at the challenge area eager to tackle the task.

Kate Garraway, Roman Kemp, Jacqueline Jossa and Andy Whyment have made it through to the final weekend in the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! jungle. All four celebrities tackled the Celebrity Cyclone in the latest instalment of the ITV show before heading back to camp and spotting an intruder making themselves at home and treating themselves to last night’s leftovers.

After completing the Celebrity Cyclone earlier in the day, the campmates took a minute to sunbathe in their hammocks.

As they did, they spotted a one-metre long goanna stroll into camp and poke his nose into the food waste bin.

The campmates decided to name him Lenny before Andy admitted he had forgotten to empty the bin the night before.

While the goanna rummaged in the bin and pulled out a piece of the previous night’s kangaroo tail, Roman began to impersonate David Attenborough and Ant McPartlin.

“Go on you’ve done it that’s a meal for camp, now all you’ve got to do is digest it,” joked the radio host.

The campmates watched on in horror as the reptile attempted to put the whole piece of tail in its mouth.

“I feel like I’m watching a scene from Jurassic Park,” Kate commented.

“He’s trying to eat it they can dislocate their jaw. I have never seen anything like that in my life.”

Jacqueline and Roman’s jaws dropped as Lennie crawled over to nearby rock with the bone and forced it into his mouth.

“It was the most fascinating thing to watch,” the radio host remarked.

“He was twisting his neck and doing like weird yoga moves just to digest the food, kind of like James Haskell used to do.”

“That was ugly and hideous to watch but I couldn’t turn away,” Jacqueline commented.

Earlier in the instalment, Kate, Jacqueline, Roman and Andy completed the Celebrity Cyclone.

Kate grabbed all four stars and made her way to the first star as she was blasted with water and balls.

When she got there Jacqueline set off, took three stars from Kate and headed off to her marker.

But the EastEnders star lost her footing, fell backwards and caused both her and Kate to fall back to the ball pit.
