The Walking Dead wouldn’t be the gripping, high-octane horror it is without its flesh-eating Walkers. Over the past 10 seasons, AMC viewers have watched as fan-favourite characters have died at the hands of the reanimated corpses. However, an interaction Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln) had with one of the dead in the very first episode of the series has left fans scratching their heads.

How did Walkers act differently in TWD pilot?

In the pilot episode of The Walking Dead, an unsuspecting Rick Grimes awakens in a hospital.

Blissfully unaware of the apocalyptic-style outbreak currently sweeping the country, he had no idea what horror laid ahead.

So when he saw a little girl outside of a gas station, it was only instinct he try to talk to her.

Wearing his sheriff’s uniform, Rick spotted the blonde child among a pile-up of abandoned cars.

Rick heard her footsteps on the other side of the car he was standing on and laid on the floor to see who it was.

As he watched her feet shuffle along the pavement in her slippers, the girl bent over and picked up an abandoned teddy bear.

The little girl began to walk off but Rick called after her.

Rick said: “Little girl, I’m a policeman, don’t be afraid.”

Little did Rick know the girl was actually a Walker and she turned around with a huge chunk of her face missing and clouded pupils.

Rick looked on in horror as the girl clocked on to where he was.

The Walker began running towards Rick who was forced to pull out his pistol and shoot her in the head.

While the tense and bloody nature of the scene isn’t atypical of The Walking Dead, the Walker’s capabilities are completely different from what fans have been used to.

There are two plot holes from the pilot scene which haven’t gone unnoticed – the fact the girl can run and the picking up of the teddy bear.

Throughout all of the subsequent 10 seasons, a Walker is never shown running towards one of the living.

Also, the Walkers’ intellectual capabilities are nowhere near high enough to register an object on the ground, let alone to then pick it up.

Numerous times in the series Walkers have walked into open holes in the ground, spikes and fires – why would this one have the nous to pick a toy up?

Cash Trapped fans slam player for confessing to huge error as she loses for second time

Cash Trapped fans slam player for confessing to huge error as she loses for second time

Six contestants returned for a consecutive 11th instalment of Cash Trapped this evening (December 5) after contestant Mairead lost out on taking home over £44,000 last night. Bradley Walsh welcomed back Mairead, Andy, Mel, Phil, Mike and Nariece on the ITV show as the hopeful quizzers tried their best to escape with their individual jackpots. However, when Mairead lost for the second time in a row, viewers were shocked to hear her justification.

Following last night’s defeat, Mairead’s winnings had been taken away from her but the quizzer managed to rack up £10,200 during tonight’s show.

After earning the most amount of money in the latest instalment, Mairead was given a chance to escape by cash trapping her five opponents but she ran out of time.

Discussing her defeat, Mike said: “You’re trying to pit your general knowledge against five other people five brains against one."

“I keep forgetting I have to cash trap you,” Mairead confessed.

Nariece remarked: “But that’s the name of the game.”

Mairead explained: “I just think I’ve got to get to the end of the minute, oh no I’m supposed to answer questions.”

“You kept forgetting that rule?” host Bradley interjected.

“I keep forgetting that rule that’s why I panic,” Mairead confirmed.

“I’ve got to block those guys not just last for a minute,” Mairead remarked before confirming she was happy to return tomorrow alongside her five opponents.

Discussing the show backstage, Bradley admitted he found it “weird” Mairead was unclear on the rules.

Bradley said: “Right well that’s very interesting became Mairead just said she forget she has to cash trap people in the final round.

“She thought she had to sit the minute out, she’s been here for 11 days.”

“How do you not know that rule?” Bradley asked. “That’s weird.”

Viewers watching the six hopeful quizzers took to Twitter to slam Mairead for not knowing the rules.

One said: “If Mairead doesn’t know she has to cash trap players on a show called #cashTrapped after 11 consecutive days then what are you still doing there?”

Another sceptical viewer thought Mairead did know the rules and sarcastically tweeted: “I forgot I gotta cash trap people #CashTrapped.”

NCIS plot hole: Is Gibbs too OLD to be a field agent?

NCIS plot hole: Is Gibbs too OLD to be a field agent?

has been on our screens for the past 16 years and fans continue to love the crime drama. Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon) has been at the forefront of the show’s investigations since the offset. But is he now technically too old to be an agent on the team?

Is NCIS’ Agent Gibbs to be a field agent?

Agent Gibbs has been the only character to appear in the show since it first began in 2003.

Over the years, we have seen many popular characters leave the series, most recently Abby Sciuto who left NCIS last year.

But one thing has stayed the same and that has been Agent Gibbs’ presence on the team.

However, is it right for his character to still be operating as a field agent or is it a major plot hole in the series?

In real life, Agent Gibbs is now officially too old to be an agent.

Despite him being a key member of the team, he shouldn’t actually still be out investigating cases.

When the show began, Gibbs was 53-years-old but as of 2018, he is at least eight years beyond the NCIS field agent mandatory retirement age of 57.

Under federal law, he should no longer be allowed to serve as an agent.

The US provision reads: “A member of the Capitol Police who is otherwise eligible for immediate retirement under section 8336(m) shall be separated from the service on the last day of the month in which such member becomes 57 years of age or completes 20 years of service if then over that age.”

So if NCIS was sticking to the real-life rule book, we would have already seen Gibbs retire.

However, it doesn’t look like he is planning on giving up work anytime soon.

"Then I think we all have to look at each other and call it a day. But we're not there yet.

“I’ve been around long enough to know what this is.

“That commitment is part of what I signed up for; I know when this show ends, that's it — there won't be anything else like this for me."

Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Karim Zeroual's fate sealed as secret advantage exposed?

Karim, 25, and his professional partner Amy Dowden, 28, received the first 40 of the series last weekend when they won over all the judges with their Jive. As the pair prepare to tackle two performances for the semi-final, it seems something the CBBC presenter does before they even take to the dance floor could him see him sail through to the final of the entertainment programme.

Following their success on Saturday, the pair joined It Takes Two host Zoe Ball, 49, to discuss what it was like to receive the first perfect score.

As it was the first time Amy had made it to Musicals week, the professional said the experience was “magical.”

However, the interviewer picked up on a little trick the amateur dancer did as they made their entrance to the live show.

Dressed as a character from the hit stage show Hairspray, the children’s television presenter could be seen kicking his leg high in the air at the top of stairs, a tact he has done several times over the course of the series.

The movement seems to have been some what of a lucky charm for Karim as every time he has done it, he’s got through to the next week.

Zoe told him: “It was kind of a make or break situation here, but obviously, you were also talking to Rylan [co-host] before about the kick at the top of the stairs.

“That was a good idea wasn’t it,” she added, to which Karim replied: “It was a big kick as well.

“I thought I’ve come back with a vengeance. I’m going to kick,” he continued.

Zoe remarked: “It’s the lucky kick. So whatever happens this weekend, do the kick at the top of the stairs.”

Therefore, if the presenter does remember to perform the move, does this ensure he will make it through to the final the following week?

Another clue the spin-off show host picked up on was how Karim’s journey mirrors Stacey Dooley’s, 32, who went on to win last year’s series.

Before speaking with the contestant and his partner Amy, the interviewer explained: “Now with last weekend’s perfect 40, my final guest’s 10 tally now stands at 15.”

“That is one short of 2018 winner Stacey Dooley’s haul of 16,” she continued.

“And judging by last week’s dance, they could be back on track to smash it,” Zoe declared, so is this another hint Karim could go all the way and win the Glitterball Trophy?

The presenter will have to beat off his competition however, with three other contestants still in the running.

Having been partnered with EastEnders actress Emma Barton, 42, this year and with his first ever final in his sights, Strictly stalwart Anton du Beke, 53, has revealed how he hopes to beat one of the hot favourites.
