Tributes have poured in for a "one in a million" young mother who was stabbed to death after an "altercation" involving two vehicles.

Levi Davis, 25, was knifed outside her home in Rushden, Northamptonshire, at about 8.30pm on Saturday.

Paramedics battled to save her but she died at the scene.

A man aged 27 arrested on suspicion of her murder remains in police custody in hospital.

Another 27-year-old man, Jake Dean Swords, of Rushden, has been charged with the attempted murder of the murder suspect.

Swords will appear at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday morning.

Tributes poured in for Ms Davis on her Facebook page.

One person wrote: "RIP Davis girl, you one in a million. You didn't deserve this. Fly high beautiful. Thoughts are with your family and your babies."

Another woman added: "Not fair you were taken way to soon, in our home town as well. Girl you'll get justice."

A woman visiting the scene to lay flowers, told the Northamptonshire Telegraph: "Our daughters are in the same class. I found out yesterday afternoon, my partner saw it on Facebook.

"She was just always smiling and laughing and had such a good sense of humour and she was a brilliant mum.

"I felt I had to come up, we’ve only known each other for 18 months but we used to spend a lot of time together in the school holidays. It’s so sad."

Superintendent Dennis Murray said Ms Davis died after an "altercation" when two vehicles stopped at the junction of Wellingborough Road and St George's Way.

"We do know that those two vehicles were involved in some sort of ongoing altercation driving along the road," Supt Murray said.

He added: "My understanding from what we know so far is everyone involved in this incident knew each other. I do not believe at this time that it was a random attack but we remain open-minded."

Supt Murray said the two vehicles involved in the incident were a black Volkswagen Polo and a white Vauxhall "van-type vehicle".

He said a 13-year-old boy arrested over the incident had been "ruled out of the inquiry" and released with no further action.

At least six dead after gunman opens fire in hospital

At least six dead after gunman opens fire in hospital

At least six people have been confirmed dead in a hospital shooting in the eastern Czech Republic.

Police and officials say the gunman is still at large and a manhunt is underway.

Government minister Jan Hamacek said the shooting happened at about 7am local time (6am GMT).

The hospital, which is in Ostrava, has been evacuated.

Prime Minister Andrej Babis told Czech public television that the gunman opened fire in a waiting room.

Police have revealed an image of the suspect and are appealing to the public to locate him but urged ‘utmost caution’.

Police said he quickly fled the scene and is described as about 5.9ft tall and is dressed in a red jacket.

The authorities have spread the image of the suspect – a man of approximately 1.80 tall and dressed in a red jacket – that has escaped.

Czech police said they received reports of a shooting at 7.19 am and arrived at the scene five minutes later.

The force wrote on Twitter: ‘We are currently strengthening the supervision of selected soft targets across the Czech Republic.’

The governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region, Ivo Vondrak, described the shooting as ‘a great tragedy’.

The motive behind the attack is not yet clear.

It is believed a nearby university has been closed for the day for the students’ safety.

Ostrava, near the Polish border in the north east of the Czech Republic, is around 190 miles east of Prague.

Clown Bobby Bubbles raped young girl who thought she was ‘in love’ with him

Clown Bobby Bubbles raped young girl who thought she was ‘in love’ with him

A children’s entertainer has been jailed after he was convicted of raping a child under the age of 13.

Robert Jamieson, 49, goes by the stage name Bobby Bubbles in his clown outfit and was well known across Hull and East Yorkshire.

But he has now been branded ‘dangerous’ after he was convicted of 10 historic child sex offences against the same girl.

Jamieson groomed the girl, making her believe that she was in love with him.

It was only when she had a child of her own that she managed to summon the courage to report what happened to her as a little girl.

Prosecutor Gurdial Singh said: ‘It’s the fact that she could then relate to her daughter and bring that back to what happened to her and made her think about what had occurred – that’s what caused her to come forward.

“She thought ‘I don’t want this to happen to my daughter”.’

In 2016 he was hailed as ‘Hull’s own Batman’ after vowing to get rid of the killer clown craze that swept the country in 2016.

He said: ‘It is not nice to see children being scared and chased by these clowns and I will step in if I have to. Kids have great imaginations and they need positive role models.

‘Clowns should be fun, but I want to be there as reassurance for them when they do feel scared. I will be there to look out for them. True clowns don’t wear masks.’

He has now been jailed for 14 years after denying all the allegations, refusing to co-operate with police and calling his victim a liar.

Disabled man took two years to die after being beaten up over barking dog

Disabled man took two years to die after being beaten up over barking dog

A man has been accused of beating up his disabled neighbour in a row over his barking dog.

Matthew Sheehan, 36, was left in a vegetative state after Raymond Burrell attacked him because he complained that his dog barked at night.

He was found guilty of GBH but not guilty of attempted murder and jailed for life in 2016, but then in November last year Mr Sheehan died.

As a result, Burrell is now facing murder charges, which he denies.

Mr Sheehan, who needed a cane to walk, had complained about Burrell’s Staffie and was heard shouting ‘shut up’ at their home in Adamsdown, Cardiff.

A statement from Mr Sheehan’s father Martin when Burrell was convicted of GBH was read out in court describing the ‘heartbreak’ of the family.

Martin Sheehan said: ‘The day Matthew was attacked will forever be etched in our memories.

‘He remains in a serious condition in what we would call a vegetative state. We spend every day at his bedside hoping he will recognise us or get better.’

‘All we can do is sit and hold his hand.’

Burrell will stand trial in July.
